Frequently Asked
Am I buying ownership in the organization?
No. Council membership is a subscription to participation, not ownership. Members receive access, perks, and non-binding input on cosmetic and directional decisions. Ares2 is a single-owner company. This distinction protects members from securities regulations and protects the organization’s ability to operate independently.
Do higher tiers get more voting weight?
No. Within any given poll, every Council member’s vote counts equally. Tier determines which polls you have access to, not the weight of your vote inside them.
What kinds of decisions do members actually vote on?
Cosmetic and directional things, like jersey colors, team name shortlists, charity recipient picks, merch design direction, content series ideas, sponsor categories, and roster shortlist input at higher tiers. The harder calls like signing contracts, financial decisions, and operational moves stay with the founder. Members shape the climb, the founder runs it.
How do I cancel or change my tier?
Anytime, through the Stripe Customer Portal linked in your member dashboard. Annual memberships are non-refundable after 14 days but can be downgraded or canceled and will not auto-renew.
What’s the difference between monthly and annual?
Annual saves you money. Most tiers give you the equivalent of two free months when paying annually. Initiate is annual only. All other tiers offer both. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time.
What is the Founder’s pay tied to?
The founder’s compensation is a private employment matter, not an org expense. Every other dollar in and out of Ares2 is published in the monthly transparency report. Members see exactly where their support goes.
What happens if Ares2 doesn’t make it to ALGS?
The journey is the product. The path is real and ambitious, but the build-in-public mission, content, and community continue regardless. Members are paying for participation in the climb, not a guaranteed destination. If priorities shift, transparency continues.
Will my information be public?
Only your chosen display name appears on the Council wall and in Dev Log credits, and only at Warrior tier and above. Personal data is handled per our Privacy Policy and never sold.
When does the Council open?
May 1, 2026 — Day 1 of Ares2. Founding members enjoy locked-in pricing for life and will be credited in the first transparency report.
